If you are new to this concept, let me explain how this works. Two years ago, I chose the word "harmony." I decided to look for harmony in everything I did. I was not cleaning the house, but I was "making harmony." I looked for ways to bring more harmony into my life.
This last year, I chose the word "purpose." Each day I woke up and I repeated the mantra to "begin each day with a sense of purpose." In my art business, I made sure that each task I did moved my art and art business along with a sense of purpose and tried to avoid "random acts" of marketing.
Often, to arrive at my word I will either create art or art journal hoping a word will find me. This year, I decided to make ornaments and paint each with a word. I am not sure that any of these words will be my word for 2016, but I was happy with these pretty ornaments anyway.
Colors for 2016
To get my 2016 creative juices flowing, I began with a color palette incorporating the two colors of the year ( serenity blue and rose quartz-- I will be blogging about these color trends in January)
To many ornaments, I added an animal spirit of either a butterfly or a dragonfly. I know that many people like to use ornaments as "memorial" ornaments with one of these winged spirits as they represent the afterlife.
|I made 12 new ornaments in all which are appropriate for either a Hanukkah bush or a Christmas tree.. Each one has a touch of turquoise glitter to sparkle in the light.|
|Whether for your Hanukkah bush or the Christmas tree, choose a word that inspires you now and remember it all year long. Discover the full holiday ornament collection in my etsy shop..|
