Watercolor Fashion Illustration Alexander McQueen Savage Beauty |
Have you ever wondered where artist like me get their ideas? This blog posts includes a montage video of how I take my ideas from conception to realized finished painting. For this look into my artistic process I focused on my Alexander McQueen inspired watercolors. Whether you were one of the half million people who saw the Savage Beauty exhibition at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, or if you missed it, you will love this blog post about the fusion of artistic ideas.

Are you celebrating New Year's in the big apple? This blog is a review of the exhibit at the Frick Collection in New York which continues until January 8, 2012 in case you haven't seen it. A great outing for this weekend if you are in New York City to see the ball drop and want to sneak in a little culture.

ReplyDeleteThe big honkin' FlashHarp® that I built for the top of my car was probably my greatest accomplishment in 2011. Go here to get a sense of that piece's physical scale http://www.etsy.com/listing/46166860/flashharpmobile-art-before-the-after-see
I'm glad I was able to pull off having a weekend Holiday Sale at my studio. Many friends, old and new, attended. And the work of five other artists was also featured. People had fun doing their Christmas shopping in a warm & welcoming place--with hot cider and yummy refreshments! This sale was a kind of major "marathon" for me---I'm so glad it worked out well! Thanks so much for your interest, Miriam ... Best to you, and Happy New Year to all!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the question. Had to think a little. My greatest accomplishment in 2011 was finally accepting that I am an artist. I've always somewhat apologized for that when people asked me what I do. I now answer with confidence! Hope 2012 is terrific for you.
ReplyDeleteThanks a lot for including my photo in your Best of Design 2011 treasury. :)
