The Chelsea Art Walk is this Thursday, July 28, 2001 with over 125 participating galleries! Chelsea's second annual summer evening of extended hours and special events is free and open to the public.Where does one start?  Here is a guide to some great finds. The evening is from 5-8 or you can visit the galleries at the their regular viewing hours.

Giant, juicy and kaleidoscopic images depict women submerged or surfacing in stilettos through candy colored waters. The series was inspired by a commercial assignment the well known photographer received that involved photographing Olympic athletes wearing heels. In addition to these luscious surreal underwater photographs are Greenberg's most recent animal series which include fantastical portraits of horses.

Images are freely embedded into the paintings. Each piece becomes a fragmented facet of personal life compacted onto the painted surface. Jeremy Stenger's second one-person exhibition at Hosfelt Gallery features new paintings that expand Stenger's rich colorful paintings inspired by everything from antique textiles to the pattern on the artist's pillowcase.

Erik Parker and street artist KAWS have organized this exhibition showcasing works by seven artists, including themselves, who make subversive and ironic works while borrowing imagery from cartoons and comics. This is a fun exhibition that even your cranky and cynical teenager will enjoy.
