Chilly Nude

I have joined a new group of artists who meet regularly for marathon drawing sessions in their studio. This Saturday we met and I was delighted that Meryl, who I have worked with before, would be the model. I was even more delighted when one of the artists suggested that she wear her overcoat that she donned during the breaks for our next pose. So here we have a nude who is wearing clothes. I knew then that this would be my perfect entry to the NFAC art contest. I love the irony that for this contest my nude is dressed...but still very much nude. This is my entry in the Nibblefest Art Contest, a themed art contest beginning on the 20th of each month on eBay. Please be sure to search for NFAC to see more great entries, each starting at just $0.99. The winner is the artist whose piece gets the most bids so each of your bids counts as a vote. It is a great opportunity to collect a piece of art at far below its market value.

Poinsettias

red gift and home decor ideas
by Miriam Schulman, @schulmanArt
Print of Christmas Flowers available
I placed red and white poinsettias on the windowsill of my kitchen. I loved how the lime green walls were reflected in the colors of the white poinsettias. I had a great time creating this watercolor painting. The original is in a private collection.

Now you can get the print. Nothing says Christmas like white and red poinsettias. This floral print can be enjoyed long after the holiday is over. The Christmas flowers make a wonderful holiday gift floral art. The poinsettia pictures make for creative and artistic xmas decorations but you can enjoy the wall art all year long. The watercolor flowers has great energy and a contemporary feel. The poinsettia artwork will be printed on archival quality acid free paper using highest quality inks and signed by the artist. Freshen your home decor with classic red and white flowers to enjoy all year round.

Portraits in Progress

Here is a portrait I am working on. I never know if it is truly done until the client sees it and says yes that is my child. I especially like the way the expression on the little girl turned out. It captured her precociousness perfectly.

I do all my portraits in watercolor. I am told that is the hardest to do ( for portraits) but it is all I know.
